Interactive Brokers Launches Tax-Efficient ISK Accounts in Sweden

Interactive Brokers has introduced the Investeringssparkonto (ISK) for Swedish investors, offering a new tax-efficient way to access international markets at low cost.

What the ISK Offers

The ISK is a Swedish government-approved, tax-advantaged investment account designed to simplify the process of saving and investing. With Interactive Brokers’ ISK, individual investors can:

  • Access a wide range of foreign stocks, ETFs, and funds.
  • Fund accounts in .
  • Benefit from no capital gains tax on transactions; instead, taxation is determined annually by the Swedish Tax Authority based on account value and contributions.
  • Avoid transaction-level .
  • Withdraw funds at any time without additional withdrawal tax.

Alongside the ISK, Swedish clients can also open General to over 160 markets worldwide. These accounts span a broad range of asset classes, including:

  • Options and futures
  • Currencies and commodities

All accounts are managed through Interactive Brokers’ advanced trading platform, supporting up to 28 funding and trading currencies, including SEK.
