Bybit Restores Full Services in India later than Regulatory Clearance

Global cryptocurrency platform on Monday that it has resumed operations in India.
Indian users now have full access to all platform functionalities, with downloads available on both the App Store and Google Play. Full website functionality will roll out completely over the next three to four days.
The restoration follows extensive discussions with regulators and compliance with Indiaโs Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Bybit has also registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit-India (FIU-IND), securing official approval to operate in the market.
Commenting on the re-launch, Ben Zhou, Co-founder and CEO of Bybit, said:
โIndia is among the most promising digital asset markets globally. We are excited to resume normal business and reaffirm our devotion to delivering Indian users a secure, transparent, and world-class cryptocurrency experience. Itโs not a comeback, itโs a new chapter for Bybit in India.โ
Bybit had previously restored limited services in February. With the latest update, Know-Your-Customer (KYC) verification is now required for all users, reinforcing compliance efforts.
Gaining Ground in the Indian Market
Bybit has been ramping up its presence in India through new initiatives and partnerships.
Vikas Gupta, Country Manager of Bybit India, emphasized the companyโs mission to โbuild Indiaโs rapidly expanding crypto ecosystem through mass education, strategic partnerships, and community-led initiatives.โ
As part of this push, Bybit will sponsor the Indian Blockchain Tour, Metamorphosis, scheduled for September 27โ28. The platform also announced the launch of its World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2025, offering rewards and incentives to users.
Beyond India, Bybit recently introduced a in Europe and platform to serve its business-to-business clients.
These developments come as BTC adoption continues to grow, with the asset inching toward a new all-time high, trading at $112,000 at press time.
