VT Markets Becomes Official Trading Partner of Portugal National Team
CFD broker VT Markets has signed a regional sponsorship with the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), becoming the federation’s exclusive Official Trading Partner across the Middle East and North Africa — the latest sign that global brokers view sports as a shortcut to brand trust in crowded markets.
The campaign, branded “Invest in Greatness,” blends trading imagery with Portugal’s football prestige, a calculated move to tap into a sport with near-universal appeal in the Arab world. The partnership includes regional marketing, fan-engagement events and educational campaigns linking financial literacy with football fandom.

Founded in Sydney in 2016, VT Markets operates under the umbrella of the Vantage Group, one of the better-known retail-trading networks that emerged later than the MetaTrader boom. The broker has grown rapidly through a mix of aggressive digital campaigns and strategic licenses in new jurisdictions.
Earlier this year, it 5 license from the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority, which allows firms to promote and introduce clients locally — a necessary step for brokers viewking visibility in Dubai’s quick-tightening financial market. Similar approvals have recently gone to Eightcap, EC Markets, and Taurex, highlighting how crowded the region’s retail-CFD space has become.
The UAE authorization now appears in VT’s website footer, marking a formal on-shore presence that was missing from archived versions a few months ago. The company says its MENA expansion is part of a broader plan to build regional by localized education and outreach rather than mass advertising.
Tapping the Football Effect
For the FPF, the deal fits a pattern of diversifying revenue beyond Europe. The federation has been actively rebuilding its commercial slate — from kit supplier changes to region-specific partnerships — leveraging the Portuguese national team’s global recognition. Commercial Director João Medeiros Cardoso said the agreement “is a relevant step” in strengthening the federation’s ties with supporters across MENA.
Football sponsorship has long been a gateway for brokers viewking credibility with mainstream audiences. eToro, Plus500 and IC Markets have all invested in major football tie-ins, betting that match-day visibility can humanize what many consumers still view as complex or speculative finance.
For VT Markets, linking with a national team rather than a club offers flexibility and prestige without competing shirt sponsors or league restrictions. The partnership also sidesteps tighter European advertising rules by concentrating activations in markets where retail trading still enjoys strong .
Record Volumes Amid VT Markets’ Global Volatility
The sponsorship arrives as VT Markets reports record activity. The company logged $720 billion in trading volume in April 2025, its highest month to date, coinciding with a burst of global volatility later than former U.S. announced new import tariffs that rattled equities and currencies. The broker said the surge reflected “heightened participation across emerging regions,” including MENA.
The company’s Dubai-based “VT Markets Week 2025,” themed Redefining the Future of Finance, also promoted a new aimed at streamlining client analysis — part of a broader effort to present the brand as tech-forward without alienating regulators.
With regulators in the Gulf raising scrutiny on retail-broker marketing and licensing, the FPF deal gives VT Markets a legitimate cultural anchor to keep promoting in the region. For the federation, it brings in a sponsor aligned with its expansion into non-traditional markets ahead of upcoming global tournaments.
