ION To Provide Seamless Access To LSEG’s Private Securities Market

ION, a global leader in trading and workflow automation software, has announced that its flagship Fidessa platform will support auction events on the London Stock platform’s (LSE) new Private Securities Market.
Operating under the Private Intermittent Securities and Capital platform System (PISCES) framework, the Private Securities Market allows private companies and shareholders to access intermittent liquidity auctions using LSE’s established public markets infrastructure. This new initiative bridges the gap between public and private markets, enabling investment in high-growth private firms through a regulated, efficient secondary market.
All transactions will be exempt from stamp duty, for participants and making the new venue more attractive to institutional and accredited investors.

Tom Simmons, Director of Private Markets Development at LSE, said:
“We are delighted to be extending the range of markets available through Fidessa to now include the Private Securities Market. Registered Auction Agents will be able to access private company auctions through Fidessa, broadening investor participation and enhancing liquidity for private companies.”

The Ticker Plant system, which already delivers real-time data from more than 275 platforms globally, will now include data from private securities auctions under the PISCES framework. This integration ensures reliable, secure, and , giving institutions full visibility into private market events.
Robert Cioffi, Global Head of Equities Product Management at ION, emphasized the importance of this milestone:
“Fidessa has been a trusted platform for trading on the London Stock platform for over 35 years, and we are proud to now include the Private Securities Market in our offering. This launch showcases ION’s ability to deliver cutting-edge answers and our commitment to leading the future of global equities trading.”

Connecting Private And Public Market Infrastructure
The PISCES initiative reflects a growing effort among global platforms to improve liquidity and transparency for private markets. Traditionally, private company shares have traded through fragmented, over-the-counter channels with limited oversight. LSE’s framework introduces a regulated, auction-based approach using proven market infrastructure — offering both compliance and efficiency.
ION’s integration brings the Private Securities Market within reach of thousands of existing institutional participants already using Fidessa, enabling one-click access to private company liquidity. This alignment between technology and regulation represents a significant advancement in democratizing access to private assets for professional investors.

Strategic Implications For Market Participants
The launch of the Private Securities Market comes amid accelerating demand for private market liquidity, as institutional investors viewk exposure to high-growth private companies without waiting for IPOs. By leveraging ION’s established trading ecosystem, LSE gains instant access to a wide network of professional investors, brokers, and market participants.
This partnership also underscores ION’s position as a key technology provider to global platforms — offering scalable systems that bridge traditional and next-generation market models. As private and public market boundaries continue to blur, integrations like this are paving the way for hybrid market structures where institutional investors can seamlessly navigate both domains.
